Barbara Weitz is an Omaha native, a community leader, educator, wife, mother, and grandmother. Barbara holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from Carleton College, a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from New York University, and a Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Nebraska at Omaha. She is a retired faculty member of the UNO School of Social Work and has served as a member of the University of Nebraska foundation board of trustees. Her volunteer leadership in the community has included work with the Women’s Fund of Greater Omaha, Building Bright Futures, the Nebraska Children and Families Foundation, the Urban League of Nebraska, and the Avenue Scholars Foundation. She and her husband Wally have three children and six grandchildren, who all live in Omaha.
